Leathanac - Before Cocbuidhe school was built in 1867 there was no National school around but a little hut school that was situated in "Locrot". The teacher's name was Jeremiah (Cahal) Calahane. He was paid by the scholars. It is English language was spoken. Most subjects were carried on there. They had no blackboard He remained there for about two years.
