    The night I got married when in my marriage bed
    up come a bold head captain and then a word to me he said
    Rise up, rise up young married man and come along with me
    To the low, low lands of Holland, France and Germany
    Holland is a fair place and in it fine things grow
    T'is a fine habitation for my young man to know
    There is sugar there in plenty and tea on every tree
    on the low low land of Holland, France and Germany
    Said the mother to her daughter what makes you our lament
    There's men enough in the country for you to give consent
