    Cold
    If a person has a bad cold he should put down buttermilk and sweeten it with sugar. When it is boiled it should be strained and drank when it is very hot.

    Butter scorch cures a cold, too. Put butter in a saucepan and put boiling water in it and sugar. Then drink it and go to bed for two days and you will be cured.

    Sore Throat
    If you had a sore throat get a stocking and fill it with warm salt and put it around your neck. This is a good cure.

    Cuts
    Boiled nettles and salt is a great cure for cuts. They prevent blood - poison.

    Sprains
    The grease of the brame or goose grease is very good if it is rubbed on the swelling. (Quaker Is).
