  2. There was a hedge school in Tibarney village at onetime. There was also a school in Errick and in Jamestown. They were called hedge - schools.
    The school in Jamestown was in the house of the teacher and in Tibarney the scholars were taught in a barn.
    John Connelly taught in Tibarney and Mike Rogerson was the man who taught in Jamestown. They were natives of the place. Both lived in their own house. The scholars paid four pence a week for the instruction they got. History and Irish
