  1. Marriages usually take place in Shrovetide. They do not take place on Shrove Tuesday. People think it is not lucky. Matches are made in the district.
    The dowry is money. i do not remember any marriages to take place in the houses. There is always a wedding feast given in our district.
    It is nearly always held in bridegroom's house. The people give them plenty of food and drink. They dress in rags and straw. They go in to the barn and dance. Some of them sing and play music.
