- (continued from previous page)man who was best able to do it, was Pat Shanahan who lived in Goulane, which is about three miles to the east of Eyeries. He could make all kinds of baskets, and whenever they were broken he was a very good hand at mending them. It is to him all the people of the district went when they wanted to make any baskets. His son is the only young man in this district who can make them now, and everybody praises him, because he is very good at this trade.
