    The name of the village in which I am living is Shountalive.

    the population is about three hundred or more. On an average there are about five people in every house, and there are about sixty houses. There are seventy-eight children coming to school, and there are about twenty-four people who are over seventy years of age.
    Most of these old people speak English usually but there are three or four of them who can speak the Irish language. Very few of them can tell stories in Irish language, but they do when the children ask them.
    Emigration is closed for the past fourteen years, but while it was open several people from this
