    Some coins were given different names. A half-penny was known as a "Make", a penny as a "Lop", a three-penny piece as a "Kid's eye", a sixpence as a "Tanner", a shilling as a "Bob". A few coins also have gone out of use, such as sovereigns, half-sovereigns and crowns.
