  1. My Father owns about eight acres of land. He sows about two acres under potatoes. How he begins is first he prepares the ground early in spring. Then he harrows it cleans it and makes drills with the plough.
He puts in stable manure in each drill, spreads it in the bottom, then puts the potatoes which are cut in slits about a foot apart and covers them up with the plough.
He sows two or three varieties of seed. Sometimes he sows potatoes in the bog in ridges which are made with a spade which is purchased in the hardware shop. The wooden plough is used in bog or in soft land.
