Long ago people had prayers called "Sgeal Luacrach". They had special prayers for special requests.
One was "Sgéal Luachreach na Maighdine Muire".
The following is a "Sgéal Luachrach" in English used in the Scart district near Bantry. It was said when someone wanted to cure a toothache.
Johnny McCarthy who was known as "Johnny Spinner" was the "Fóisín" teacher there. The Sgéal Luachrach
