- There is a place in the townland of Maca na Sailighe called Leact. A soldier was killed there and he is buried there. There are two gollans where he is buried and everyone who passes the place throws a stone and says a prayer for him at the same time and now there is a big cairn of stone there.
The place is supposed to be haunted. A man was passing Leact late one night and he got very lame and he had to stay there until morning.
My great grandfather Donnchadh Ní Scollaidhe told me this story and that is why the cairn of stones is there. He always got his children and his grandchildren to throw a stone on the cairn when passing it and to say "Beannacht Dé le hanaman na marbh".- Collector
