- There is a ruined church in Coomhola known as Teampaillin Fiacna. It is said that there was a woman killed there by a dog owned by the Fianna who were hunting. She was buried in "Teampaillin Fiacna". She was carrying with her two rolls of butter, and now two large stones, which represent the two rolls of butter mark her grave.
There is a place near Gougane Barra, and it is called Keim-an-neigh which means "The deer's leap. One day as Fionn and the Fianna were hunting a deer near Gougane, the deer jumped across the road from one rock to another, and that place is now called Keim-a-neigh.- Collector
