The following are the wild birds found in my district:- The Rook; the Seagull; the Curlew; the Blackbird; the Thrush; the Robin; the Sparrow; the Wren; the Linnet; the Wagtail, the Swallow; the House-Martin; the Magpie; the Lark; the Cuckoo; the Corncrake' the Plover; the Starling; the Goldfinch; Chaffinch; the Hawk; the Wild-Pigeon; the Wildduck; and the Waterhen.
    The Cuckoo, and the Swallow, and the Corncrake are migratory birds. They come to this country in the end of Spring, and migrate in the end of Autumn.
    The cuckoo makes no nest of its own, but lays its eggs in the nest of the rivog, and when
