Very few people went to America from this townland when emigration was open.
- There is a Holy Well in this parish called Lady's Well. It is situated in Michael Finn's land in Dunowen. It is believed that the Blessed Virgin once appeared at this well and the print of her fingers are to be seen on a stone near it.
