  1. The old school in Courtmacsherry was closed when Mrs. O'Donoghue came to Courtmacsherry 57 years ago. She said Johnny Twomey's sister was teaching there.
    She said Collins from Skeaf was assistant with Felix who was teaching in the old school in Timoleague. There was a forge opposite the old school, owned by Sweeney or Canty. Felix's father in law was Pádraigh an Oighre; his daughter was 17 years when she married Felix - one son Pádraig An Oighre had - Patsy- he used work in the sand-lighters - got cold and died. Pádraig An Oighre used have earthenware pans for sale outside Dan Hollands' house. Felix used give the boys a great whipping: put one boy on the back of another and whip
