- (continued from previous page)for the person who buried the first corpse there. In order to gain the prize some parties procured the carcass of a pig, placed it in a coffin and had it buried in the new graveyard. Hence the name "Teampall Muice".
Another story says of it that a certain outlaw lived near Macroom and that he was hotly pursued by the authorities. His friends spread the rumour that he had died, and to make the matter look real a funeral took place, the funeral of the outlaw to Inniscarra. The man was not dead however and the coffin contained only the carcass of a pig and hence the name Teampall Muice.- Collector
