  2. Peter McArthy of Lisdangan, Newmarket. Co. Cork.
    is a noted fresh water swimmer and diver, on one
    occasion about eighteen years ago, a number of boys
    were swimming in a deep pool beside his house, and
    one boy named Robert Lane of Taur, after diving into
    the pool sank to the bottom and was drown.
    His comrades ran for McArthy, who dived several times
    before he could recover the body, but eventually he
    brought it to the surface, but life was extinct.
