On this page

  1. Daniel Lane of Glounakeele Rockchapel was a noted
    high jumper. He often competed a local sports and
    was able to jump over a bar six feet high.
    It is also told of him that he was able jump over
    a six barred gate.
    On one occasion he jumped over a pier of a gate 5' 9ins
    high, in Glounamuckla, this event was witnessed by
    several people, among whom were Michael Murphy of
    Glounamuckla, Newmarket Co. Cork
