- The last heavy snow we had was in the year eighteen ninety five, about forty three years ago, in the month of February.
This snow lasted for about nine weeks in shady places, Several sheep were covered under snow drifts.
The farmers could only find their sheep, by the air holes which they had melted through the snow with their breath.
This snow was about nine feet deep in some places, especially in shady places.
They people had a very hard time while this snow lasted. They had no means of getting food, as the roads were covered with snow.- Informant
