- THE LORE OF CERTAIN DAYSIn this district, Monday is considered one of the unlucky days. For instance, people do not send their children to school for the first time on this day. It is also unlucky to pay out money or to remove from an old house to a new one. Friday is considered lucky to start work such as tillage or harvesting. Saturday is looked on as being unlucky for housekeepers to start making garments or knitting, for anything started on Saturday has no finish. May day is one of the unlucky days to do any farm work. Good Friday is considered lucky for planting. Strange to say any animal born on this day is supposed to not live long.
