- (continued from previous page)was working every morning and came home every night. On his way home, he had to pass a lios which was known to be a very airy spot. One night, Jack was passing the lios when he saw a tiny little man wearing a green cap and a red coat mending a shoe. Jack had often heard that the fairies were very rich. So he went over and asked him for a purse of gold. The lady behind you will give it to you, said the Leprechaun. Jack looked behind him to see if the lady were there. The lady was not there and when he turned around again, the fairy had vanished.
