    churning, wash the delph and put a few cups of milk on the fire in the saucepan for the baby, sweep the floor, make the bed, bring a few buckets of water from the well and boil the potatoes for the dinner. Then off she went to the field.
    "Oh then I will and it wont be much trouble to me" he said and filled his pipe for a good smoke. "It is easier than breaking one's back bending over a reaping hook" and he reddened his pipe and pulled away at his ease.
    The first thing he started at was the washing of the delph and while doing so he broke one of Peggie's cups.
    "It couldn't be helped any way" he muttered as he took a bucket and went to the stall to milk the cow. When he had the cow nearly milked she began to kick and sent him sprawling on the ground and broke the bucket and spilled the milk.
    The pigs were yelling with the hunger and he had to boil some food for them. When he had the food ready he went to
