- We learn much by studying the sun, moon, stars, rainbow and clouds. If the sun is blood-red rising in the morning, it is always a sign that we shall have rain before night. If it is red at night it is a sign of good weather and if it shines before seven it will rain before eleven. If the moon is lying on its back and if the moon has a ring encircling it, stormy weather is sure to succeed. The stars are also a sign to us, as to what sort of weather to expect. When the stars shine brilliantly we know that the night will be frosty. When the sky is dark and overcast by heavy grey clouds, rain is sure to follow. When we see large fleecy clouds, fine warm days are coming. An old saying is "A rainbow at night is a(continues on next page)
