  1. Careysville castle was built by a man named Condon before Cromwell came. It was called Ballypatirck castle that time and it was besieged by Lord Brogan who was one of Cromwells generals.
    There was a chapel in Brooklodge and the ruins of a Protestant church is to be seen in Clondulane graveyard.
    The ruins of an Abbey is in Coole and the puritans tried to knock it down but it used be up again next morning.
