    when his leg left the stirrup the horse and man dissapeared and he fell down a blind and helpless old man.
    There he lay on the side of the road not able to see where to go, or get anything to eat or drink. People passing by saw him and wondering at his great size brought him food and drink. He could hardly understand their language or they his. St Patrick was converting the people at the time and was not far away so they told him of the strange man and he came to see him. St Patrick then took charge of him, fed him and got a man to guide him.
    St Patrick took a lot of interest in Oisin and his strange tales. There Saint Patrick tried to make a Christian of him but he found it a very hard thing to do. Oisin said that if he saw God and his son Oscar wrestling and if God he would believe in him. In the course of time he became converted. When he
