When the butter is made it is taken out of the churn and placed in a wooden tub half full of water in order that all the milk might be washed out of it. Some people go to the cleanest well for the water for churning in order that their butter might be perfect. The butter is then salted and made into a big lump or sometimes made into seperate pounds.
People use the butter-milk for baking.
