    Tinkers, those groups of travelling horse-dealers and tinsmiths do not frequent this neighbourhood now. They are well-known for their quarrelsome tendencies and sometimes their are fierce fights between rival factions.
    The Hogans and O'Driscolls are seen about here in small numbers, but the main body is hardly ever seen.
    They visit every race meeting and can be seen with the wheel of fortune and other amusements.Large crowds gather around them, but seldom anyone wins a prize because they are too clever for them.
    Their children are very healthy owing to the open-air lives they lead. They are also very cruel and beat their animals mercilessly.
