There was a man living near Castlelyons Chapel (Fermoy, Co. Cork.) The snow drifted up to the eaves of his house. He slept all day on Sunday for he thought it was night when there was no light coming in the window. Then he got hungry and he got up. When he opened the door he saw all the snow.In the year 1904 a great storm blew down the cow-house and the roof of another shed belonging to Maurice Toomey of Peafield, in the parish of Lisgoold Co. Cork. - Transcription guide »You are not logged in, but you are welcome to contribute a transcription anonymously.
