  1. Nano Crotty was a famous local poet who used to write poems about the River Blackwater and publish them in the Cork Weekly Examiner. She was a native of Ballyduff, Co. Waterford.
    Michael Fitzgerald was another poet. He lived in Dungourney, Midleton, Co. Cork. He wrote poems about Midleton Hurling Team.
