- In olden days mostly all the people used make their own candles out of the fat of sheep. They used melt the fat and dip it in a mould. Then they used dip a piece of cloth in tallow, and put it into the mould candle for a wick.
Everyone used weave twigs or rushes into baskets long ago. They used be called back-baskets and were very useful. In spring when the people used plant potatoes, they used put straps on them and every two persons used draw them to the fields in their turns.
Mr. Denis O'Brien used do forge work long ago at Rockhill. He used make croppy pikes, spades, gafs for killing salmon.- Collector
