    In a place called Gort which is situated near Fannisk a schoolhouse was built 90 years ago.

    was where the master ate his meals. The pupil's sat on wooden benche's ranged round the wall's. The writing material's were slate's and quill pen's, but, some of the pupil's did not write atall. The subjects taught were history, reading and writing in Irish. The most used language was Irish.
