- Richard Stephenson was a famous dancing master. He lived in Shanagolden. He used to go arround the country teaching dance. His usual dancing school was a barn. In my neighbourhood he used to teach in Danaher's barn. Great numbers used to attend his classes. His charge was a half a crown a quarter. He was in his prime about forty years ago. Some of his best pupils in Knocknaboula are Danny Liston, and Bill Bradish.
