    Woods are not plentiful, but however a fair share of trees shelter the dwellings. The common trees are ash, beech, elm, sycamore and horse chestnut.
    The river Shannon flows in front of my house. At Loughill village a small river called the Aba Ban flows into the Shannon. This river rises in the bogs in Clounleharde, flows past Ballyhahill, and directly North along the valley to the Shannon. This little river is noted for its white trout.
