- My mother lived in Maiden Street in Newcastle West. She used to hear the noise every night of the cóiste gan cheann. It used to go up and down the Quay three or four times.

- One of the Lyons who now live in the square of Newcastle West was coming home one night and he saw the priest going into the churchyard. (I saw him first at M. Murphys and there I followed him and that is how I saw where he went to.) Canon Dwane also saw the priest.
