- There are a lot of roads leading from this village to towns and other villages. The principal ones are, the one leading to Newcastle and the one to Charleville. The other roads lead to Kilmeedy, Drumcollogher, and Ballygran. There is also a road called the new line that was made to give work to the poor people during the famine. Although they did not finish it at all. They meant to join it with the Drumcollogher road But the following year they got tired of it and the Government would not let them do any more of it and they joined it(continues on next page)
