The most important farm animals are, the dairy cows, young cattle, horses, sheep, and pigs.
In the Winter, the cows are stalled in the bales, those are bars of timbers set in a frame, and closed on the neck of the animal, while others are tied by means of chains around the horns or neck.
In the Spring, the little calves are very interesting and their call can be heard at a distance, when the feeding hour approaches. At first, they are fed with new milk out of a bucket or some other small vessel(continues on next page)- Collector
