  1. Mrs P OConnor, Ballyea told me the following prayer. Her mother taught her to say it before going to sleep each night.
    On Good Friday, blessed Friday.
The day Our Saviour was crucified.
A Jew came up with spear in hand
And pierced Our Saviour from side to side.
His Blessed Mother was standing with a weeping heart and a heavy eye.
    II
Who ever shall say this blessed prayer,
Three times each day, three times each night.
Shall be saved from the gates of hell and always from mortal sin.
Oh save me dear Lord to-night.
    Amen.
