- There was a woman living near a fort one time. Once a week a fairy woman used to borrow a pot from her. This continued regularly for about 12 months. Every night the pot would be returned full of meat and soup.
One day the fairy woman returned the pot as usual full of meat and soup. She asked the woman why she did not eat the meat she always send her. The woman confessed that she was afraid to eat it. The fairy woman made no comment of the reply but just said that they would be leaving the fort in the following week and she hoped that the woman would be as kind to the newcomers as she was to them.
