  1. Sprain: Bog-onion boiled in water and rubbed on to the sprain. It forms an oil as thick as tar.
    Rash: Finnamóna or white moss from the bog. On top of old thatched houses a plant called "Tórpín" grows. Some people believe that it keeps houses from getting burned.
    Burns: 1. Sweet oil and lime water mixed -- the mixture is called Carron oil.
    2. Cover the burn with the white of an egg.
    3. Cow-dung is also good if applied to a burn - it prevents festering.
    Kidney Trouble: A weed with a red flower which can be found growing on old walls is good for this. The weed is boiled and the water drank.
    Rheumatism: Two ounces of celery seed boiled in a quart of water. Keep boiling until a pint of the liquid remains. Then drink.
    St. Anthony's Fire: A person who suffers from this goes to a person named "Walsh." Walsh cuts his finger and with the blood
