My father, God rest him, was standing over there at Barry's Corner waving the flag and shouting:-
"The Garrison is not taken yet while the flag is flying"
And suddenly there was a volley of shots from the barrack and three of the bullets went through the flag and you can see the bullet holes in it yet.
