    He entered the shop and asked permission to be let over to the fire. He tried to catch the smoke and let the money drop in. Then he returned home. "Father" says Charley, "I got the smoke allright but it fell from my hand when I was crossin the ditch". "Where did you get it", asked his father. "The fire took the money" said Charlie, "but I could not hold the smoke in my hand".
    "Throw him a bit"
    One day a little boy was coming along the road with a loaf of bread under his arm. A small dog trotted along after him. An old lady met him on the road and said, "Would'nt you throw him a bit". The little boy took up the dog and threw him away about 60 yrds. "Well miss says he, "will I throw him another bit".
