    brought to her mind so forcibly the hunger and terrible hardships the people suffered. She was constantly saying "if you saw what I saw during the famine years, Men, Women, and Children dropping dead on the side of the road from Hunger and Fever you wouldn't even allow a potato to go to waste."
    The ruins can be seen of the Old Fever Hospital which was built as a Doctor's residence but had to be utilized for the accommodation of Fever Patients during those years.
    The Graves where they were buried can still be planely seen in front of the building, and in the corner of a field behind the building near the present Tennis Court. The present owners of the field planted trees in that particular corner and they now form a small group.
    It is sad that as many as fifty were buried in one day in those graves. It was in those years that the present Borrisokane Work House was started.
    The Masons that built it had 4? a day and the carters? for the service of themselves has their Horses and had 8? a day.
