There are other plants which do no harm. The following are bloodwood which is said to have grown at the foot of the cross when Our Lord was dying. The red spot on it is supposed to be a drop of the Sacred Blood which fell on it.
Some people boil ferns and the juice of them is used as a cure for stomach trouble. Bog ashpodel is a plant which is used for a sore throat and if eaten by sheep it is said to give them a stiffness in their bones.
