  1. People long ago used to make their own baskets out of sally rods. They used make a round ring like a horse shoe with sally rods. They used to have them about two inches apart. Sallies were woven in and out through the other ones. Keep weaving until all are weaved, twist the bow of the basket round. Then put two or three in round it to make it firm. Put two or three more , up a piece, turn, then in a round ring and then you will have the basket made.
