lucky day to begin a long job.

The Harvest of the Geese is on St. Michael's Day September 25th when a cooked goose must be added to the feast. The first ten days of April are called Riabhach days because the old brindled cow (bó riabhach) shouted "I won't die now. March is over." But April borrowed ten days from March and finished her.
