- Upperchurch CuresA cure for a toothache is to put a frog in your mouth. Some say this is sufficient. Others recommend putting the frog in the mouth three times and making the sign of the Cross, or leave frog three nights in water, and rub to teeth. Another Cure is for the sufferer to pull a tooth out of a dead man's skull with his own teeth. And again others would advise simply making the sign of the Cross with a deceased person's tooth extracted from a full toothed skull.
Thrush can be cured by rubbing goose grease to affected parts or rub dry salt to them.
Tipperary people make the sign of the Cross with an extracted or fallen out tooth, and throw it away back over their heads to ward off further teeth trouble.
