    wear a shamrock in St. Patrick's honour. The people get married in Shrove and Shrove Tuesday is the last day, and a lot of people get married on that day. On Holy Thursday the Bishop blesses oil for the priest. On Good Friday the people go to the Church to do the Stations of the Cross. On Easter Sunday it is a custom in Ireland to eat a large number of eggs.
    On St. John's night the people light a bonfire. On St. Martin's Day the women of the house kill a cock and spill some blood at the back of the door. People leave up holly for the twelve days of Christmas.
