    is the hardest; one cannot "gain" the game hole if any other layer's marble is within "marble inch" [?] by "marble inches" is meant a distance of a span and three inches, measured by the owner of the marble. Marbles so placed, have to be all "slabbed" away before the game hole can be gained. When a player succeeds in doing this, he then enters the game hole, and is now said to be "killing". This means that, if he now "slabs" any player's marble and drives it the required "bulk", he has won it.
    The game is very interesting, and very often a single game will occupy an hour or even longer, according to the number taking part; and there is often a row also.
