  1. Some few miles from here there lived a man who was supposed to be very strange. One day when a Fair was in prosess in Roscrea he carried a donkey on his back to the Station.
    Quite recently a man by the name of James Doherty put a red iron poker in his mouth for a bet.
    James Tierney of SHankhill was supposed to be a great walker. One day when passing a neighbour's house he was asked to wait and her would get a lift to town. He continued walking and the people going to town in the car passed him some two and a half miles away. About half an hour had differed their time in starting.
