Proprietors of Moycarkey Parish in 1640
Moycarkey. Shanbally, Forgestown + Coolkip 1658 acres. Owners to' Cantwell of Moyc + John Cantwell. When Wm died John held them as sole heir. There was in MoyC a castle + bawn in repair, a castle at Forgestown out of repair. A castle at Shnbally + Graigur out of repair MoyC. had manor privileges + a market twice a weekGalboola was in Thurles Parish in 1640 + went in with Archestown, owners in 1665 - 7 Russell, Cormac, Cuddihy: In MoyC parish were 200 acres of land at Lisnahasky owned by Prof. Archbishop of Cashel + let to Garrett Cumerford of Leagh. It was about Dan Taylor's grave or between Killough, Galbertsown CLough Martin, + Shanbally. Another 12 acres of glebe land was at the church of MoyC fenced by a ditch + owned too by Archbishop of Chashel. Galboola paid P. taxation in 1291-2(continues on next page)
